Agbesi Kwadzo Dzakpasu Esq
Agbesi holds an LLM (Banking and Finance) from the London School of Economics and Political Science ( LSE) (2003) and an LLB from University of Ghana (1998). Agbesi has particular interest in banking and finance, litigation, energy, pensions, real estates, media and mining. He was an Associate at Akuetteh Kudoadzi and Co until early 2004.
Agbesi completed the Ghana School of Law in 2000 and was admitted to the Ghana Bar the same year. He is a member of the Ghana Bar Association and also a member of the Association of International Petroleum Negotiators (AIPN).
Agbesi is currently the Board Chairman of Pensions Alliance Trust, a leading pensions administrator in Ghana. He also serves on the Board of Media General Ghana Limited, owners of TV3 Network Limited and a number of commercial radio stations.
Agbesi had previously served on the Board of Ghana Grid Company and was the Company Secretary and Secretary to the Board of the Ghana National Gas Company from its inception until February, 2016.
Esther Awovi Akafia
Founder and CEO
Esther is an attorney and an experienced international development professional with over 20 years of experience working and leading teams globally. She is the Founder and CEO of the Pioneers International Academy.
Esther started her career as a business advisor with the Royal Bank of Scotland in Manchester, UK and subsequently charted her role as an attorney in Ghana establishing microfinance banks in Ghana and Africa. Esther subsequently focused on the African continent where she led the Human Resource, Training and Development for FINCA International, a global microfinance organization headquartered in DC. During this time, she focused on building teams to support business growth and on developing middle level management to assume C level roles to drive local leadership in Tanzania, Malawi, Zambia, Nigeria, DRC Congo, and Uganda. She subsequently took over as Deputy CEO of FINCA operations in Nigeria. The idea of Pioneers was nurtured while in business school at Colorado State University where it was incubated at its entrepreneurship center. Pioneers is Esther’s give back to enable others use education to change their trajectories and make an impact in the country, the continent, and the world. In the last 8 years Esther has focused on Pioneers full time, taught at the universities in areas of law, business and leadership and served on boards in the education space and new business.
Esther’s educational qualifications are Bachelor of Laws (LLB, Ghana), Masters, International Business Law (LLM, Manchester, UK), MBA (Colorado State, USA) and is currently pursuing Ph.D. in Education & Social change (Bellarmine Kentucky, USA).

Mrs. Maame Afua Forson is my name, and I am honored to serve as an administrator at Pioneers International Academy. With a passion for education and a diverse background in secretarial-ship, management studies, travel, and tourism, I am dedicated to creating an enriching and nurturing environment for all students, teachers, and staff.
Education has always been a cornerstone in my life, and I am proud to have graduated from Cape Coast Technical University with a Higher National Diploma (HND) in Secretarial-ship and Management Studies. This foundational education equipped me with essential organizational and managerial skills that have proven invaluable in my role as an administrator.
As an administrator, my primary goal is to support and foster a positive learning environment where students can thrive academically and personally. I believe in the power of education to transform lives and empower individuals to achieve their dreams.
Collaboration is at the heart of my approach to administration. I work closely with our esteemed team of educators and staff to implement innovative educational strategies and ensure that every student receives the attention and support they need to reach their full potential.
